Bount is a marketplace for incentivized requests that enables anyone to post a request for someone else and fund a reward (i.e. bounty) that they receive if they fulfill the request. If the request is public, the bounty can be crowdfunded to increase the incentive until the target is motivated to fulfill the request.

On Bount, users do 4 fundamental things:

1. Create requests

Users post requests targeted at specific people. The requests can be public or private, and be for almost anything so long as they comply with our terms and rules on prohibited requests. Every request will be reviewed by our team before it’s posted and visible to the target.

2. Back requests

Supporters of the request then pledge to fund a bounty reward that the target of the request earns if they successfully complete the request. Bounties can be funded by a single individual or crowdfunded by many (if the request is public). The bigger the bounty, the bigger the incentive, and the more likely the request will be fulfilled.

3. Complete requests

If incentivized to fulfill the request, the target will formally accept it (requests can also be declined or ignored by the target). Accepting prevents pledges from being reduced or withdrawn and ensures there’s a minimum bounty to be earned should the target put in the work and effort to fulfill the request.

4. Claim bounties

After completing the request, the target will submit evidence of their fulfillment to all of the backers of the request and our team for review. If it’s determined that the request was successfully fulfilled, only then are pledges collected, and the bounty is released to the target.

If a fulfiller submits a claim to a bounty, but doesn’t adequately fulfill the request, the claim will be denied and backers won’t be charged.
